COMMITMENT, INTENSITY,
DESIRE – THE
NAME OF THE GAME FOR KYLE PARKER
By: Joey Skavroneck 7th Grade, Weddington Middle School
Great Players in any sport have
similar qualities across the board…C.I.D. Also
known as… Commitment , Intensity, and Desire
to be the best. Yes, I know…natural talent in speed
and agility are key as well. But a lazy athlete with great
talent will never achieve C.I.D.
Kyle Parker, a seventh grader at Weddington Middle School, is what you
can call the epitome of CID. Never one to waste a free moment, if there is
a ball around Kyle will find it.
A member of the 13U Charlotte United Futbol Club team, Kyle
can be found kicking, spinning and moving a soccer
ball in more directions than you can count. As a center-mid
soccer player, he plays a key role on the number two ranked
soccer team in the state and number 20 in the country. Kyle
has played for the club for four years.
Kyle also excels in Basketball as well. He played for the
Weddington All-Star team and made it all the way to
the finals, only to lose to Monroe. Kyle plays point-guard
and can see the whole court openly. Also, he has harassing
defense that will create turnovers all the time. Commitment
to each sport that Kyle plays with intensity and makes him
a winner every time.
Baseball is another sport that Kyle succeeds in. At second
base, Kyle was a big help to the Weddington All-Star Team. His
team only came a couple games short of playing in the Southeast
regionals in Florida.
On a personal level, Kyle tells us that his favorite NBA
player is Allen Iverson. His favorite soccer players
is Pele, but when it comes to baseball “Derek Jeter
would have to be my favorite player”, says Kyle.
This Summer Kyle is hoping to travel to Europe to play in
European soccer tournaments with his team. One of his future
aspirations is to play major league soccer. Kyle Parker – He
has C.I.D.!
