Providence High School junior track athlete Nimeesha Coleman has been named the Community Hero of the Week, Presented by The Union County Comets. Nimeesha has set direct aim on improving her personal best times in all events over the next two seasons of prep competition. The daughter of Magic and Nakisha Coleman competes in the 400M Hurdles, the 400M, 300M and 500M events.

Nimeesha has competed at the New Balance Nationals, helping her relay team to top-ten finishes in the 4×200 and 4×400 events, earning All-American status. Nimeesha hopes to continue breaking her personal best marks and earn a college scholarship opportunity. Her goals include setting new marks in each event and recording above a 4.0 grade point average this school year.

Inside the classroom, Nimeesha is an A/B Honor Roll student and is enrolled in Honors and AP classes for this coming season. She also enjoys helping out inside the community. Nimeesha participates in many community outreach programs through her church and also volunteers as a host for 5th graders and story teller for PreK and Kindergartners. She also volunteers with Sources of Strength to help teens through challenging issues. Congratulations to Nimeesha Coleman for being named the Community Hero of the Week, Presented by The Union County Comets.
