Katherine Emory Named Karsey Glass Breakout Star of the Week
Cuthbertson Middle School rising eighth grader
Katherine Emory has been named the Karsey Glass
Breakout Star of the Week. The 13 year old daughter
of Terry and Suzanne Emory is an outstanding
softball player. She plays catcher, outfield and second base
for her school and travel team. Katherine was awarded
the Most Outstanding Player award at the recent Battle
of the Border Softball Showcase.
Katherine has made many favorite memories playing softball.
“It’s hard to choose just one memory but I always enjoy time
with my teammates. I love driving to tournaments with my
dad and listening to the playlist that we made. I remember
hearing a coach tell his girls to move up when I was at bat.
His pitcher was really good and I was nervous. I hit a hard
line drive down third and the third baseman wasn’t ready.
I ended up getting a double, surprising them and me!”
Inside the classroom, Katherine is an outstanding student and
has been a member of the A/B Honor Roll each grading period.
She is a member of the BETA Club and attended the Early
Accelerator Program at North Carolina School for Science and
Math this summer. Congratulations to Katherine Emory for
being named the Karsey Glass Breakout Star of the Week.
