Marvin Ridge High School 2017 graduate Zack Swanson has issue250swanson
been named the Architech Sports and Physical Therapy
Student Athlete of the Week. The son of Chip and Diane Swanson
graduates as one of the top golfers in Marvin Ridge history. He was
a 2016 All-State First Team member and also won the 2015
Conference Player of the Year Award. Among Zack’s top memories
is a round with PGA Tour Professional Brendon de Jonge. Zack
won the match shooting 68 at The Club at Longview. “I sunk a
birdie putt on the last hole to seal the deal, jokingly he picked
my ball out of the hole and tossed it into the water. That was a
lot of fun and a day I will never forget.”

Zack’s top score is a 67 at The Club at Longview. This year he has
put a two iron in his bag and Zack feels it’s been the best decision
he has ever made. “It’s a great club off the tee, it closes the gap
between my three wood and my four iron. It is an essential to my
game now, and it will never leave my bag. I love ripping it off the tee,
either a low stinger or a high bomb.”

With graduation now over, Zack is heading off to play golf at UNCC.
He also looks forward to continuing his education here locally. Zack
carried a 4.13 grade point average in high school and earned four
academic letters. Congratulations to Zack Swanson, the Architech
Sports and Physical Therapy Student Athlete of the Week.
